Terrible!
I recently applied for electronic visas for my parents through the official Egypt eVisa portal, but I encountered many serious problems that caused the applications to be rejected unfairly.
First, the website was frequently inaccessible and gave me constant login errors despite using the correct password. I had to reset the password multiple times and eventually log in from another device just to access the account.
Second, the system required very specific data in Arabic that was impossible to enter correctly because my father is now an Italian citizen and the names on his expired Egyptian passport didn’t match the new official documents.
Third, I never received the emails asking me to update the application data within 48 hours; those emails went to spam or were never delivered, so I had no way to fix the mistakes in time.
Because of these issues, both visa applications were automatically rejected, and the fees paid were non-refundable, even though the problems were caused by technical errors on the portal side.
I hope the Egypt eVisa authorities improve their system, make their communication clearer and more reliable, and provide refunds in cases where the fault lies with their platform.
For now, I will never apply for visas on this terrible portal again.

A rip off
Applied in February with much difficulty due to slow clunky website. Payment confirmed but Visa never received. Money banked in Alexandria. No record when I log in. Have contacted them twice, with reply saying it is on my portal. It’s NOT. Ripped off.

Website not that smooth, but did the job
Website is not that smooth, but did the job. Check all fields double. Don’t forget to put “all” your names. Receive in less than 2 working days

AWFUL website
AWFUL website – not much to say other than its as if they don’t want you to use it. Can’t understand how this version of the website has been signed off for use, I could make a better one and I don’t know how to code

Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. Not sure who maintains or funds this but it is such a nightmare, if you can use it at all. Avoid at all costs and hopefully the Government officials improve it.

E-Commerce is not there. Strong point
Same as everyone else it won’t update data. It won’t allow to input your address. Keep saying things are invalid then when you try to save it’ll go back to it. It’s all blank. Save your time and hassle and just purchase at the airport when you arrive

Quick, official, and best price rate
Correct government portal. You will need some patience, but it is perfectly possible to get your visa online through this website, prior to your trip, and this without any extra administration fees as you find on other visa portals. Just make sure there are no errors when entering your details, and it will run smoothly without any problems. I applied for a visa for myself and my wife, attached a photo of our international passports, and within two working days, we received our e-visas by email. Convenient and no wasted time at the airport.
25 euros per visa, no extra fees, and no hassle at the airport on arrival. Top!

I managed to get a visa using the site…
I managed to get a visa using the site but now, trying to get one for my husband has proved a totally frustrating experience and biggest exercise in time wasting. What is it with these visa application sites in countries such as this – they never work, the pages wont load and you work yourself up into such a state that you wish you had never booked an airline ticket there. Does the Egyptian company or whoever designed it not realise that it is unfit for purpose?

What a waste of time and nerves
What a waste of time and nerves. link and every new site loads forever!! Unnecessary fields to be filled! Almost had a stroke doing that and gave up! Wasted 3 hours of my life. If I had know beforehand, I would have never booked Egypt!! This will be the first and last trip to Egypt

TOTAL SCAM
TOTAL SCAM. Do not use, you will loose your money. Your application will be returned, arguing details were input incorrectly. Once back on the site, you can’t amend. Application will be “refused”, with no refund possible. TOTAL SCAM.

Absolutely the worst web-site in history
This must be the worst web-site in the history of all web-sites. Nothing works. You wait hours for pages to load. Afterwards, any information you have entered is lost and has to be re-input. Tried with Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Tried using IOS and Windows

The by far biggest waste that humanity…
The by far biggest waste that humanity has produced. Nothing works and nothing, really nothing works. Everything that the programmers could have done wrong, they have managed to do wrong, after more than an hour I gave up and decided to obtain the visa on site.

Waste of time and money
I would give zero if I could. Absolutely waste of time and money. This is a dinosaur system they’re collecting money and rejecting visas left and right. I wish if I landed in this page before I wasted my time

Extremely Frustrating & Poorly Designed
I recently used this website to apply for a visa to Egypt, and the experience was nothing short of frustrating. The site is overly complicated, with no logical flow of information. It feels like it was designed to confuse users rather than guide them through the process.
There’s no clear guidance or FAQ section to explain the process in simple terms.
I ended up wasting hours trying to complete my application, with no luck only to encounter errors that weren’t explained.
This website needs a complete overhaul to make it user-friendly and efficient. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend using it if you want a smooth visa application process.

I have spent 3 hours trying to complete…
I have spent 3 hours trying to complete a couple of short forms and I get to the end and it deosn’t click through. Possibly the worst so called officail (is it?) web site in the world. You would think that they might want to make a good impression but the opposite seems to be true. Sort you web site out as a gate way to a happy experience at the start of the holiday if you like tourists.

WORST experience ever
WORST experience ever. Nothing works. Visa gets rejected and you lose your money. I’m shocked that their government doesn’t do anything – corrupted SCAMMERS…

Would give zero if could
Would give zero if could! Appalling site. Details correct yet I’m told they’re not! Keep being told my password/email/application number wrong when they aren’t! Can’t get on to the site to do ‘corrections’. Given only 48hrs to correct what is correct or lose fee. Disgraceful…
Feel I’ve been scammed out of my money. DONT USE!
Below are the analyze and conclusion of us about above reviews
The first review details a frustrating experience with the Egypt eVisa portal. The user encountered technical issues such as frequent login errors, requirements for specific Arabic data that was difficult to provide, and failure to receive emails regarding application updates. This resulted in the rejection of their visa applications and non-refundable fees. The review highlights issues with website accessibility, data input, and communication, suggesting significant problems with the portal’s functionality and user experience. This review appears genuine, outlining specific issues and expressing frustration with the system’s shortcomings. It’s detailed and provides a clear narrative of the problems encountered.
The second review is extremely brief and simply labels the website a “scam” and a “disgrace,” advising others not to use it. While the sentiment is strong, the lack of detail makes it difficult to assess the legitimacy of the claim. It could be a genuine negative experience, but without further explanation, its value as evidence is limited.
The third review describes a negative experience where the user applied for a visa, paid the fee, but never received the visa. They mention difficulty using the website and state that the money was processed in Alexandria. They also claim that there’s no record of their application when they log in and that their inquiries were met with unhelpful responses. This review provides more detail than the previous one, specifically mentioning payment confirmation, lack of visa, and issues with accessing their application. This suggests a potential problem with the website’s reliability and customer service.
The fourth review is a positive one, stating that while the website isn’t smooth, it “did the job.” The user advises double-checking all fields and including all names. They report receiving the visa in less than two working days. This review offers a contrasting perspective, suggesting that the website can be functional if users are careful with their input. However, the acknowledgment that the website isn’t “smooth” hints at underlying usability issues.
The fifth review is another negative one, stating the user couldn’t even get the website to accept their details and that it added them twice, which they couldn’t remove. They report spending two hours on the task and ultimately giving up. This review points to significant usability issues, particularly with data input and account management.
The sixth review simply calls the website “AWFUL” and suggests it’s poorly designed, implying a lack of user-friendliness and functionality. Similar to the second review, it expresses strong dissatisfaction without providing specific details.
The seventh review is extremely concise, stating “its a scam , do not use them.” Like other very short reviews, the lack of explanation makes it hard to determine the credibility of the statement. The statement is a direct accusation, but it needs substance to be considered reliable evidence.
The eighth review describes the website as “Absolute rubbish” and a “nightmare,” implying that it’s difficult or impossible to use. The user hopes for improvement from government officials. This review echoes the general sentiment of poor website quality and usability found in many other negative reviews.
The ninth review describes issues with updating data and inputting address information, with the website repeatedly stating that the information is invalid and failing to save it. The reviewer advises purchasing the visa at the airport instead. This suggests specific problems with the website’s form validation and data saving mechanisms.
The tenth review is a positive one. The user describes it as the “correct government portal” and claims that it offers the best price. They acknowledge the need for patience but state that it’s possible to get a visa online without extra administration fees. They advise ensuring no errors are made when entering details and report receiving their e-visas within two working days. This positive review emphasizes the official nature and cost-effectiveness of the website, but also suggests that attention to detail is crucial for a successful application.
The eleventh review indicates success getting a visa initially but then frustration when trying to obtain one for their husband. The reviewer complains about the website’s loading issues and overall unreliability, questioning why the design is so poor. This reveals the website may have intermittent functionality rather than consistent performance.
The twelfth review expresses extreme frustration, describing the experience as a “waste of time and nerves” due to slow loading times and unnecessary fields. The user gave up after three hours, stating they would have avoided Egypt if they had known about the website beforehand. This review further highlights the website’s usability problems and potential impact on tourism.
The thirteenth review simply states “TOTAL SCAM.” The user warns against using the site and claims money will be lost due to application rejections based on alleged incorrect details, which cannot be amended, resulting in “refused” applications and no refunds. This aligns with other reviews suggesting financial loss due to website errors or issues.
The fourteenth review boldly claims that the website is “Absolutely the worst web-site in history.” The user cites consistent issues with page loading and data loss across multiple browsers and operating systems. This review showcases a broad range of technical issues, implying a fundamentally flawed design or infrastructure.
The fifteenth review continues the theme of extreme dissatisfaction, claiming the website is “The by far biggest waste that humanity has produced.” They state that “nothing works” and that programmers have made every possible mistake. The reviewer gave up after an hour and decided to obtain the visa on-site. This suggests that the website is essentially unusable.
The sixteenth review calls it a “Waste of time and money.” It accuses the system of collecting money and rejecting visas, regretting not having read the review page beforehand. This review highlights financial concerns and feelings of being misled by the system.
The seventeenth review labels the website “Extremely Frustrating & Poorly Designed.” The reviewer cites a lack of logical flow, unclear guidance, and hours wasted trying to complete the application. The user recommends a complete overhaul to make the site user-friendly. This assessment directly targets the website’s design and usability, suggesting a need for significant improvements.
The eighteenth review describes a user spending three hours attempting to complete short forms, only to find that it doesn’t click through. The reviewer questions the website’s official status and suggests it fails to make a good impression. This emphasizes issues with the website’s functionality, particularly related to form submission and user experience.
The nineteenth review states “WORST experience ever.” The user claims visas get rejected, money is lost, and accuses the government of corruption. This review expresses extreme dissatisfaction and suggests severe consequences of using the website.
The twentieth review claims “Would give zero if could!” The user’s details are correct, but the site says they are not. They mention issues with accessing the site to make “corrections” and a short time limit to correct what is already correct, or the fee will be lost. This is perceived as a scam. This reveals a system where the user feels trapped and unfairly penalized for errors that may not exist.
www.visa2egypt.gov.eg likely legit, but highly problematic
