“It’s not a problem”
We wouldn’t have achieved our residency status without the help and expertise of Visas in Portugal (through their MAP Advogados office in Nazaré). Checkout their Publications section of the website to get a feel for who you’re dealing with. This was our starting point and then we arranged our first video meeting and went from there. Whoever you deal with on the team has full understanding of what is required for your particular circumstances and they all speak English very well.
In our case my wife has EU citizenship and once she gained residence status in Portugal (the first stage), I could apply for Family Reunion for mine. We did have one or two issues that arose but their can-do approach always found a way through. It’s a process of providing all your official information to the Immigration Agencies and by following their instructions step by step everything came together. Nothing was left to chance so that at the final appointment many documents in my file we’re not asked for but if they had …. we had everything and precisely translated too!
There are still some outstanding details which we need to straighten out for peace of mind. Again this is ‘not a problem’ as they continue to help out whenever you need it even after the process is complete. They always welcome us warmly no matter when or why. We are very happy with our successful outcome and very grateful for the excellent service provided.

Visas in Portugal is a Professional service that takes the bureaucracy out of the process. Maria and the team are the best in their class and managed to export my UK car without incurring taxes even though I was told by other organisations that I would have to pay over 14k tax ! .
