it only got worse in 2024

if in 2021 there were week-long waits for an appointment in the embassy in London, today, in 2024, it’s just not possible to make an appointment. Still the same VFS Global not doing its job, only worse, much worse.
Will we be able to renew our passports on time? Who knows, and they just don’t care.

Minbuza confirming the prejudice which exists among the majority of citizens

Contacted minbuza for 3 reasons; 1) asking why the visa services in many countries were outsourced to a dubious commercial company based in Dubai with a near monopoly called VFS Global, 2) the handling of a complaint re the same, and 3) if the significant increase of the cost to apply for a visa had any connection to outsourcing of the process to a commercial company. The answers were typical of what citizens would expect from a government institution supposed to support citizens in the NL; 1) decision was made by the government, period 2) minbuza did not want to interfered with the handling of a complaint 3) the increase was not related to the outsourcing.

This review expresses frustration with the appointment booking process at the embassy in London, specifically concerning passport renewals. The reviewer claims that appointment availability has worsened significantly from 2021 to 2024. The core issue raised is the perceived ineffectiveness of VFS Global, the company responsible for handling visa application processes. The review highlights concerns about timely passport renewals and a general lack of care from the involved parties. The language used indicates genuine dissatisfaction, employing phrases like “just not possible” and “they just don’t care,” which contribute to the review’s negative sentiment. Given the specific details (location, timeframe, service provider), the review appears plausible as a customer complaint about bureaucratic inefficiencies.

Review 2: ben
This review details a series of inquiries made to “minbuza” (presumably a government institution related to foreign affairs) regarding visa services. The reviewer’s questions focus on the outsourcing of visa processing to VFS Global, the handling of complaints related to VFS Global, and the increase in visa application costs potentially linked to this outsourcing. The reviewer expresses dissatisfaction with the responses received, describing them as typical of a government institution that is unhelpful to its citizens. The review’s credibility is bolstered by its structured presentation of the questions asked and the perceived answers received. The reviewer uses specific details about VFS Global’s Dubai base and its near-monopoly, adding weight to the claims. The overall tone is critical and disillusioned, reflecting a negative experience with the government institution in question.
