System looks simple, but does not work

System looks simple, but you get stuck on the selfie section: I got a selfie, select the photo to use, but the system does not allow you to move beyond that. The ‘take a selfie’ trigger keeps showing up as an error.

dont waste you time with the evisa

tried visiting the country, and find out I needed a visa, I tried going through process and find it obnoxious at best, the amount of unnecessary information request is laughable. I will never step foot on this country while the requirement for entering stay as they are.

Very happy

After reading the reviews, I had little hope in the system but my experience was not too bad. The actual process of applying for the visa is quite difficult. It took me ages to try and get the pictures I needed to send small enough for the system to accept it and the whole process of applying took about an hour. However, I sent it in the afternoon and was approved the next morning. I was due to fly the next day so perhaps that was the reason they approved it so quickly.

Kenya eEvisa: From 3rd world to 4th world

No confirmation mails of received application. 5 days later still not debited my account, don’t know if payment even went actually through. Can’t contact anyone to find out. Ridiculous questions (eg, Parents names and status) yep…Dad, dead. Well that was a help! You are the Fawlty Towers of immigration departments. In comparison: New Zealand- done in 48 hours.

More worse than the worst

More worse than the worst. Stressful application system, no or worst customer service ever, if refused visa, no reason to why it’s so………. The whole thing sucks.

Am a Somali citizen who lives in UK .I applied for a Evisa online paid the 10 fees since it’s a referred visa.I called to ask for update since it’s 3 weeks past and referred visa take 14 days to be approved or rejected.they told me to apply for another one and am wondering why should I pay for a second fee and my time is wasted.they never reply to emails.

My experience is long. I will include a link to my bad experience below.

I’ve had similar issues to others as stated below. I’ve had my visa approved but not included on the confirmation email. My partner keeps getting blocked. The website keeps crashing. No answer to emails , messages or phone calls . What are we supposed to do now. Can someone from Evisa. Kenya get in touch please? In contrast the Tanzanian process was easy and efficient.

Worst visa application website ever

Worst visa application website ever. Constantly errors out and loses connection. After numerous attempts to apply we finally got an approval for our evisa but the actual evisa PDF was missing. It has been a nightmare using this website. Just go back to issuing visas at the airport.

10 days still no Kenya e visa

Anisa Abdilahi
I applied for Kenya e visa 10 days ago and I’m still waiting for it to be issued. My honeymoon is at risk of being cancelled. Nobody answers customer care line, nobody replies to emails, shocking service

This should be easy….BUT

I have been unable to do what should be a simple process. I’ve created an account and then it doesn’t exist. It took me 3 days to create an account because they would send the OTP 11 hours after I asked and then the screen was timed out. Ugh!!!
I finally got up to uploading a picture and accidentally x’d out and poof all is fine and I must create an account again. So frustrating.

Absolutely ridiculous

This is the worst service I’ve ever dealt with! Taken me days to do this with stupid pjeg format! I wanted to go visit family and have a holiday ! I will not be going! Kenya you are going to lose tourism though this ridiculous system!!
No one at the embassy to help and no one to speak to over the phone as they don’t answer!
Lost over 2000 in tickets and ruined my Christmas holiday! Horrendous!!!

Avoid this worthless site at all costs

Avoid this worthless site at all costs! After submitting pages and pages of information (all in JPEG format which is bizarre) I was charged $11 prior to processing my application. The charge was immediately collected, but that’s the only thing that happens fast. It has been over 2 months since I applied and still no response. I’ve emailed them multiple times but no reply. All phone numbers are inactive and fraudulent. Go through a trusted visa processing center. Kenya should be embarrassed with this “service” which is non-existent.

POOR SERVICES AND NO XUSTOMER CARE

I am frustrated with this system, I applied a month ago and I was asked to pay 11$ to verify the documents submitted, before paying the actual visa fee but since then nothing seems to move and nobody picks up when I call, the numbers on the webpage are all fake. VERY FRUSTRATING AND TIME WASTING

This country does not want tourism

This country does not want tourism. The tool is tortorous and the file sizes are way too low for any normal picture (and you need several of them).

Terrible system that does not meet…

Terrible system that does not meet customer needs. And to make things worse there’s no contact details and even the email provided by embassy. I one responds to queries. My evisa account was locked and of course there’s no one to help unlock it. Such a useless tool.

Terrible e-visa system lead me to lose…

Terrible e-visa system lead me to lose my flight. Calls to London office yielded nothing, in the end I lost funds for my airline ticket. I should have been at Mombasa enjoying my holiday now. Ridiculous..Thankfully, Morocco does not ask for visa from British people, so I am instead heading there tomorrow!!

Nisaidieni marafiki

As of today 7 Oct 2021, applying single trip visa online does not take you anywhere. I am a non-Kenyan, I cannot go any further than “sign up for an account”. It comes up with “email already registered” and after that does not want to proceed. HELP

Below are the analyze and conclusion of us about above reviews

The initial statement appears to be a promotional message from the website itself, aiming to attract tourists to apply for the Kenyan e-Visa. It expresses a positive view of Kenya as a tourist destination and encourages users to apply. This is not a user review, but rather a marketing pitch, so it doesn’t contribute directly to assessing the site’s credibility beyond indicating the website’s intended purpose.

Abukar Mohamud’s Review: This review expresses strong dissatisfaction, labeling the website a “scam.” The user claims to have applied for a visa on September 9, 2024, and as of September 25, 2024, had not received it, despite receiving daily emails promising its imminent arrival. The lack of communication channels and the delayed visa processing lead the user to declare it a scam and vow to visit Tanzania instead. The frustration and lack of a tangible visa despite the passage of time and the promise of one are significant red flags. The absence of direct human contact amplifies the negative experience. This is a highly negative review suggesting potential issues with the visa application process and overall reliability of the service.

Bernhard Brouwer’s Review: This review highlights a technical issue encountered during the application process. The user reports being stuck at the “selfie” section, with the system continuously prompting them to take a selfie despite having selected a photo. This technical glitch prevents the user from progressing with their application. While not a scam in the direct sense of fraudulent activity, the malfunctioning system indicates poor website design or maintenance, hindering the user experience. The inability to move past a basic step such as uploading a photo raises concerns about the functionality and reliability of the entire application process.

Jose Gonzalez’s Review: This review focuses on the perceived complexity and intrusiveness of the visa application process. The user finds the amount of information requested “obnoxious” and “laughable,” expressing reluctance to visit Kenya due to these requirements. While this review doesn’t explicitly accuse the website of being a scam, it criticizes the burdensome application process, which could deter potential visitors. The user’s negative perception of the process contributes to a negative sentiment towards the visa application system.

Michelle Lucas-Halliwell’s Review: This review offers a mixed perspective. Despite initial doubts based on other reviews, the user’s experience wasn’t entirely negative. However, the review acknowledges the difficulty in applying, particularly with resizing images, and mentions the process taking about an hour. On the positive side, the visa was approved quickly, possibly due to imminent travel. This review suggests that while the system may have issues, it can still function, but the application process is cumbersome. The quick approval might be an exception rather than the norm, as indicated by other negative reviews.

John Hearn’s Review: This review expresses extreme dissatisfaction with the e-Visa process. The user mentions a lack of confirmation emails, uncertainty about payment processing after five days, and an inability to contact anyone for assistance. The user also criticizes the intrusive nature of the questions asked during the application. The comparison to “Fawlty Towers” and the positive experience with New Zealand’s visa process further emphasize the negative experience. The lack of communication and payment confirmation raises serious concerns about the website’s reliability and customer service.

David Ahimbisibwe’s Review: This review uses strong language to condemn the application system, describing it as “more worse than the worst” and “stressful.” The user also criticizes the customer service as the “worst ever,” citing a lack of explanation for visa refusals. The overall sentiment is overwhelmingly negative, indicating a highly unsatisfactory experience with the website.

Rahma Nur’s Review: This review details a frustrating experience with a referred visa application. The user, a Somali citizen living in the UK, applied for an e-Visa and paid the required fees. After three weeks with no response, they contacted the website and were told to apply for another one, which would require paying a second fee. The user also mentions the lack of email replies. This review suggests a significant issue with processing referred visas, a potential financial burden on applicants, and poor communication from the website.

Qande Travel’s Review: This review points to a severe lack of communication from the Kenya High Commission in London. The user refers to a YouTube video documenting their negative experience, indicating a prolonged and unresolved issue. The lack of response to phone calls, emails, and letters suggests a systemic problem with the commission’s communication channels.

LcsN’s Review: This review echoes the concerns of others, citing issues with visa approval emails, website crashes, and a lack of response to inquiries. The user’s partner is experiencing issues with being blocked from the site. The comparison to the easy and efficient Tanzanian process further highlights the deficiencies of the Kenyan e-Visa system. The lack of communication and unresolved issues creates a sense of helplessness and frustration for the user.

Corinne’s Review: This review describes the website as the “worst visa application website ever” due to constant errors and connection losses. Even after finally getting an approval, the actual e-visa PDF was missing. The user expresses extreme frustration and suggests reverting to issuing visas at the airport. This highlights major technical issues and a failure to deliver the promised service, making it difficult to obtain the necessary travel documents.

Anisa Abdilahi’s Review: The user applied for a Kenyan e-visa 10 days prior and had not yet received it, potentially jeopardizing their honeymoon. They emphasize the lack of response from customer care and email support. The review underscores significant delays and non-existent customer support, putting the user’s travel plans at risk.

M. Kahres’s Review: This review details technical problems and frustration in simply creating an account. OTPs arrived hours late, and accidentally closing a window required restarting the entire process. The experience is described as “frustrating,” pointing to poor website design and usability issues.

Susan Glenn’s Review: This review expresses strong negativity, labeling the service the “worst I’ve ever dealt with.” The user describes difficulty with the application process (specifically with image formats), inability to get assistance from the embassy or over the phone, and losing over $2000 on tickets, ruining their Christmas holiday. The review highlights a complete failure to provide necessary support and a system that actively hinders travel.

Glenn David’s Review: The reviewer uses the word “incompetence” to describe the visa service. They highlight the absence of customer service, especially for elderly individuals lacking computer skills, and attribute a lost holiday ticket to the Kenyan embassy’s failures. They advise people to go on holiday elsewhere, which shows strong dissatisfaction.

Greg’s Review: This review describes the site as “worthless.” After extensive information submission, the user was charged $11 upfront, but received no response for over 2 months. Emails went unanswered, phone numbers were inactive, and the user recommends using a trusted visa processing center instead. They feel Kenya should be embarrassed by their non-existent service.

Gilmas Rya’s Review: This review details frustration with the system. The user was asked to pay $11 for document verification before the actual visa fee but has seen no progress since. Calls go unanswered, and phone numbers appear fake. This points to potential fraudulent activity with upfront charges and lack of service afterwards.

Mads Knudsen’s Review: This is a short, simple review stating that the country “does not want tourism.” The user describes the tool as torturous, with too-low file size limits for images, making the application unnecessarily difficult.

Claire Muturi’s Review: The user describes the system as “terrible” and not meeting customer needs, worsened by the lack of contact details and unresponsive email support. Their account was locked, and they received no help unlocking it. The reviewer concludes the tool is “useless.”

RC’s Review: This review states that the “terrible e-visa system” caused the user to miss their flight. Calls to the London office yielded nothing. The user ultimately lost funds for their airline ticket and had to change their travel destination due to the visa problems. The outcome was a loss of money and missed vacation time.

Common Sense’s Review: The user is experiencing technical issues during the signup process, unable to proceed beyond the “sign up for an account” step due to an “email already registered” error, and requests help.
