Poor dating site – not worth the time and money
Total waste of time and money.
• Fake engagement mails auto-generated by the site, for example when you have looked at a profile: ‘{user} wants to get to know you better! After you visited the profile of {user}, she was waiting for you to contact her but you didn’t get in touch. She would like you to at least say hello.’ No, she wouldn’t because this is a lie written by the site.
• Mass-mailing feature allowing a user to send bulk messages to a large number of profiles in one go, including to users that do not meet the sender’s criteria such as age. If you reply, you never get any reaction.
• No function to temporarily suspend your account in case you want to focus on a specific person. You have to get support to do it manually and then restore your account if/when you want to continue.
• No smartphone app.
• Large number of profiles without a single photo.
I have tried many dating apps, and Expatica easily gets bottom rating. Save your time and money.

Fake
Fake! I paid for a month to see fake profiles and receive messages from fake profiles as well.. I asked for help several times and a refund but their response was you were online.. Note : I had to go online on the website to contact customer service so.. No refund and my X and Instagram account got hacked a week later which was really weird.. I do not trust the people behind this website, be safe.. There are other ways to make friends in other Countries!

DO.NOT.GIVE.MONEY to these scammers
DO.NOT.GIVE.MONEY to these people. almost 30 women that were “interested” are just fake account created by them and they just want to chat. As soon as i mention meeting i get stupid excuses and than they ghost me. DEFINITELY DO NOT got for a 3 month thinking it will be cheaper because they will fak you properly before they cancel the subscription and meanwhile will charge one or two additional months. SCAMMERS

total scam
total scam. No response to the emails I sent to their support dept. I sent more than 50 “are you still a member” emails to the members who had supposedly sent me a message. No responses at all. a waste of time and a very sad use of lonely peoples photos etc. I did not pay, just used the free starter part, having had a similar experience on another dating site. Do not waste your time or your money, they are thieves taking from lonely people and should be banned from practising.

Total scam
Total scam. You sign up and you start getting “messages” from other users that, only after paying, you find out aren’t from them. Just the website sending you a message about them, that they wrote on the about them section for their profile. None of the 31 emails were sent to me were from the actual user. I’m glad I did a one time bank transfer for 1 month and don’t have to worry about canceling. Pity I didn’t think to look here for reviews first.

These people are taking advantage of honest ladies and gentlemen searching for a mate.…
Most of the dates that contacted me were phony, listing height as 4 foot 2 inches and 6 foot 4 inches having photos of normal size ladies.
If you try to cancel “automatic renewals” They make you jump through hoops. You have to print out a request to cancel, fill it out, sign it, upload it to your PC and then email it back to them. They change the wording so that you don’t know how to cancel. These people should be in jail.
Below are the analyze and conclusion of us about above reviews
The provided reviews paint a consistently negative picture of Expatica’s dating service, specifically concerning its legitimacy and ethical practices. The overwhelming consensus is that the platform utilizes fake profiles and deceptive tactics to lure users into paid subscriptions.
Review by tony: This review highlights “very poor service” and accuses the platform of using “copy and paste messages.” The most concerning aspect is the claim that Expatica makes it “as difficult as possible to cancel,” which is a common red flag for potentially deceptive subscription services. This suggests a deliberate attempt to trap users into recurring payments, even if they are dissatisfied.
Review by Thomas S.: This detailed review accuses the dating site of being a “total waste of time and money.” The reviewer cites specific examples of manipulative tactics, such as automatically generated “engagement mails” that falsely suggest interest from other users. They also point out flaws in the site’s functionality, including the lack of a temporary suspension feature and the prevalence of profiles without photos. The reviewer’s comparison to other dating apps and concluding statement (“Expatica easily gets bottom rating. Save your time and money”) strongly suggest a negative experience.
Review by Nora: This review is brief but direct, labeling the platform as “fake.” The reviewer claims to have paid for a subscription only to encounter fake profiles and messages. The most alarming part of this review is the accusation that their “X and Instagram account got hacked a week later,” potentially linking the data shared on the Expatica website to a security breach. While correlation does not equal causation, this incident raises serious concerns about the website’s security and data handling practices.
Review by Johnny English: This reviewer uses strong language (“DO.NOT.GIVE.MONEY to these scammers”) and accuses the platform of creating fake accounts to generate engagement. They claim that attempts to arrange meetings are met with “stupid excuses” and ghosting, indicating that the profiles are not genuine. The reviewer also warns against purchasing longer subscriptions, suggesting that the platform may continue charging users even after they attempt to cancel.
Review by Shirley Dean: This review focuses on the lack of responsiveness from support and the absence of genuine interactions with other users. The reviewer states that they sent over 50 “are you still a member” emails with zero responses. This strongly suggests that the profiles are inactive or fake, supporting the claim that the platform is a “total scam” and a “sad use of lonely peoples photos etc.” The reviewer also mentions a similar experience on another dating site, indicating a pattern of deceptive practices in the online dating industry.
Review by Manuel: This reviewer shares a similar experience of receiving automated “messages” that were not actually sent by other users. They clarify that these messages were simply based on the information in the other users’ profiles, highlighting the misleading nature of the platform’s communication. The reviewer expresses relief that they only paid for a one-month subscription and advises others to check reviews before signing up.
Review by george: This review is the most concise, stating simply, “It’s a scam, stay away from francedating.expatica.com.” While brief, it adds to the overall negative sentiment towards the platform.
Review by Basil Francis: This review highlights two main issues: phony profiles with unrealistic height listings and difficulties in canceling “automatic renewals.” The reviewer describes a cumbersome cancellation process involving printing, filling out, signing, and uploading a request, which suggests a deliberate attempt to discourage users from canceling their subscriptions. The reviewer’s final statement (“These people should be in jail”) reflects a high level of dissatisfaction and perceived dishonesty.
Expatica Likely a Scam
