Americamp is the best
Americamp is a great company to go with for summer camp!
They provide great insightful information into the programme and the team are so helpful with any questions you may have!
I’ve enjoyed using Americamp on my camp experience as they really helped me prepare for the best summer possible.
Americamp are upfront about costs and set realistic expectations of the summer camp experience.
They also provide excellent opportunities which you may not find elsewhere.

Do not go with Americamp!
Do not go with Americamp!! I had an awful experience involving a lack of understanding and communication along with disorganisation. Firstly, I felt confused about what steps to take in the application process. I was spammed with their junk emails and didn’t know where to find information. I ended up needing to cancel my application due to a family death however as she was my aunt not an “immediate family member, they wouldn’t refund me the £242 application fees!!! However they were doing giveaways on instagram for free application fees to five winners. I’d explained my situation and had phone calls with them. It was a very long process and so frustrating. I’m very disappointed and upset. I would point anyone in the direction of going with a difference summer camp agency such as Camp America or BUNAC which I have heard good things about.

Do not use Americamp
Do not use Americamp! They are unorganised. They do not communicate amongst themselves. They said my daughter’s application was amazing. But failed to tell her they had not received her references and cancelled her application 8th April. Although her university professor sent the reference in January! 28th February they reassured me on the phone they will keep trying until end of May. On the 28th February they also fail to tell me that the reason she hasn’t been offered a job is because the camps can’t see her application. Americamp took no responsibility but blamed my daughter. They did admit that several emails which she should have received did not get sent due to a fault in the system. They did not try to reinstate her application even though there is another two months to receive a camp job. We feel very LET DOWN by America Camp.

Such a supportive and friendly agency, recommend!
AmeriCamp provided such amazing support to me during my first summer working at a summer camp. They answered my queries promptly and the team are so so friendly! Would definitely recommend to anyone considering what agency to go through! (As someone who promised to do camp for one summer ONLY and is returning for her second, thanks to how life changing my AmeriCamp summer was!)

2025 Returner. Best experience ever. 🫶
I had the most incredible experience with AmeriCamp in 2024, and I even ended up signing up to go back this summer in 2025! The team were great with any questions or worries I had, and were so friendly throughout the process. I truly recommend the programme to everyone, and I still talk about it daily in my everyday life! I’m forever thankful for the experience AmeriCamp gave me. 💘

I went to the Americamp fair in London …
I went to the Americamp fair in London in February and it was an absolute joke. Me and my cousin were told not to apply to any camps as there will be a camp fair and it’s better to talk to camps face to face etc. Me and my cousin payed to travel to London, payed for a hotel, only to go to the fair where all the positions were taken for the roles that we wanted to work for. After hours of talking to camps, only a few people were able to get jobs and there was still so many people at the fair still. A few people looked like they were going to cry and one girl told me that she accepted a job that she didn’t even want to do as she was worried she wouldn’t get anything else. After hours there was a massive line for people that wanted to be on a waiting list for jobs in the future. I was talking to a few people who were working at the fair and some said that they didn’t even get a place at the fair in previous years and had to get in touch with camps themselves at home. My cousin asked if there is a list of camps that we could apply to and one of the ladies said no and to just google camps !! Not to mention that many of the American staff members were extremely rude – one decided to just talk to someone else whilst I was in a middle of a conversation with them and another told me to line up behind her if I wanted to talk to her as she was having a private conversation (in the middle of the room?) !! I also had an American staff member from a camp tell me and my cousin that we aren’t allowed to wear makeup and we aren’t allowed to curl our hair (whilst I was sitting there with red lipstick and my cousin with curled hair). This comment disgusted me the most as wearing makeup and curling your hair doesn’t affect your work what so ever and wanting to wear makeup and look pretty for yourself is frowned upon and is seen as something else. To have a man tell us that is also unacceptable. I bet he didn’t tell any boys at the camp that they can’t gel their hair or shave etc. After leaving the fair I have decided not to do Americamp after all as I don’t want to spend my summer being exploited by people who think it’s acceptable to tell two women what they can and can’t wear in 2025 (whilst WE are paying THEM to work for them) and to completely dismiss and disregard me considering I could have been their future employees.

BE AWARE WHEN HANDING YOUR MONEY OVER
BE AWARE WHEN HANDING YOUR MONEY OVER. There is no cooling off period, you will loose £450 straight away, even if you have a genuine reason why you can’t go.
It’s such a shame that they are happy to take teenager’s money, with no guarantee of a placement at the end.

left so stressed
this has always been my dream since i was 9 years old unfortunately 5 months before i was due to depart and 1 week till my visa interview i get told they cannot procced with my application due to mental health related subjects even to i am clean and i have been for a while the apparently where not a wear on my previous mental health issues i also knew what i was sighing up for when allying as i have worked in nursery’s and high demanding places . personally the whole policy isn’t clear as it says ” pre medical condition” don’t know if it is just me but i though that meant medical not mental and even though i don’t understand what i did not disclose there still isn’t much help and no refund either beware don’t spend over £1k if your not sure what to do
Below are the analyze and conclusion of us about above reviews
The first review is written by the company itself. This is marketing content, not a genuine user review, therefore it’s biased and designed to promote their services. It highlights positive aspects like being voted the best choice for students and invites people to join what they call the “AmeriCamp Revolution.” While not inherently deceptive, it lacks the objectivity of independent reviews.
Euan Wilkins Campbell’s review is overwhelmingly positive, giving AmeriCamp a 5-star rating. The review praises the team’s personal and friendly approach, saying they made the process smooth and easy and created excitement for the summer camp experience. The reviewer recommends AmeriCamp to first-timers. Such a glowing review, without any mention of potential downsides, might raise a slight suspicion of being overly positive, but it doesn’t necessarily indicate inauthenticity.
Chloe McConnell’s review echoes the positive sentiment, awarding AmeriCamp 5 stars. The review highlights that AmeriCamp was supportive every step of the way, responsive to contact, and ensured the reviewer’s well-being while at camp. Calling them the “best company by far” is a strong endorsement. Like the previous review, it is highly positive, offering no critical feedback.
Eva Cassells’ review continues the trend of positive feedback, granting AmeriCamp 5 stars. It emphasizes the company’s insightful information, helpful team, and preparation for the summer camp experience. The review also notes that AmeriCamp is upfront about costs and sets realistic expectations, while also providing excellent opportunities. This review sounds genuine and highlights specific positive attributes of the service.
Isla’s review is a stark contrast, giving AmeriCamp a 1-star rating. This negative review details a poor experience with a lack of communication, disorganization, and spam emails. The most significant issue is the refusal to refund application fees after a family death, citing that the deceased aunt was not an “immediate family member.” The reviewer expresses disappointment and recommends alternative agencies. This review raises serious concerns about AmeriCamp’s policies and customer service.
Sam’s review also gives a 1-star rating and corroborates Isla’s concerns about disorganization and poor communication. The review claims that AmeriCamp failed to inform her daughter that they hadn’t received her references, leading to the cancellation of her application, despite reassurance and a university professor sending the reference months prior. The review also mentions emails not being sent due to a system fault. The reviewer feels “LET DOWN” and states that Americamp blamed her daughter and took no responsibility. This review reinforces the concerns about the company’s operational effectiveness.
Ruby’s review is another highly positive one, awarding AmeriCamp 5 stars and calling them the “BEST.” The review emphasizes the supportive, informative, and passionate nature of the agency, highlighting that the team does everything to ensure a smooth and successful experience. Such unqualified praise, consistent with other 5-star reviews, warrants a cautious approach to its objectivity.
Ellie Louise’s review awards AmeriCamp 5 stars, focusing on the supportive and friendly nature of the agency. The reviewer received prompt answers to queries and strongly recommends AmeriCamp. The personal anecdote about returning for a second summer due to a life-changing experience adds a layer of authenticity, but the overall tone remains exceedingly positive.
Liam Fyfe’s review states they have used AmeriCamp for the last 3 years and experienced quick responses to issues. They recommends for anyone to use.
Sophie’s review is another 5-star endorsement, calling AmeriCamp the “Best Summer Camp Agency!!” The review highlights high wages, low fees, a UK-based team with fast responses, in-person camp fairs, and orientations. The reviewer anticipates the “best summer” and emphasizes the seamless process. The enthusiasm is high, but lacks specific details beyond standard marketing points.
Katie-Louise Southam gives AmeriCamp a 5-star review, highlighting an “incredible experience” in 2024 and a decision to return in 2025. The team was friendly and helpful, and the reviewer is “forever thankful.” This review is positive but lacks specific details beyond general satisfaction.
Tegan’s review offers a 5-star rating and emphasizes the support received from the AmeriCamp team over the past 2 years (2024 & 2025). The reviewer praises their responsiveness to concerns and help in securing a dream summer camp placement. Mentions of online and in-person camp fairs and proactive outreach add credibility.
Karis Holroyd’s review awards 5 stars and highlights the consistent and reliable help provided by AmeriCamp for a first-time summer camp worker. The review mentions assistance in camp placement with a friend and easing the visa process, suggesting a positive and well-supported experience.
Ava Beatson’s review is a very negative one, awarding only 1 star. It details a negative experience at the London camp fair, citing that positions were taken, resulting in people accepting unwanted jobs. The review also mentions rude American staff members, including unacceptable comments about appearance and makeup. Overall, the review portrays a disorganized and potentially exploitative environment. This review is very detailed and highlights several red flags regarding the company’s practices and professionalism.
Lisa’s review gives a 1-star rating, warning users to be aware of handing over money, stating a £450 is lost immediately, even with genuine reasons for cancellation and no guarantee of placement.
Mads Sutherland’s review grants AmeriCamp 5 stars, mentioning that Lauren was helpful and the experience exciting. The helpfulness of all staff members is also noted, leading to a recommendation of the service. It’s brief and overwhelmingly positive.
Emily Penfold’s review awards 5 stars and highlights being hired at the AmeriCamp Camp fair. The review praises the helpful and reassuring staff, noting that the process was easy and the camp selection was perfect.
Lucas gives AmeriCamp 5 stars. The reviewer highlights the staff being really helpful, really kind straight to the point and got hired.
Jemima Fletcher review awards AmeriCamp 5 stars. The review highlights the camp being extremely helpful and found their dream camp.
Millie Moran’s review gives AmeriCamp 4 stars, noting a good overall experience, the staff are helpful, and got placed at a great camp but highlights needed for the rooms to be bigger and to update the roles more.
Shannon Doward’s review gives AmeriCamp 2 stars, detailing a negative experience where the reviewer was told they could not proceed with their application due to mental health reasons, even though they were previously clean and working in high-demanding places. The reviewer felt the policy wasn’t clear and has no refund.
americamp.co.uk likely legit but proceed with caution
