A total shambles of an online form

A total shambles of an online form. First attempt froze, lost that page. Asked for details of my previous Indian Visa which I dont have as it’s on an old passport. Asks for every country you’ve visited in the last 10 years !!!. The uploads are required in different formats PDF and JPEG and restricted in size. Total bureaucracy gone mad

I received my ETA fine via email on the authentic gov website.

However some aspects are not clear on the ETA like if the date of arrival refers to when your flight actually lands or when you get through immigration to get your VISA stamped in time.

Also the helpdesk is awful. No one answers for ages. When someone does pick up, they don’t say anything and just hang up on you. Worst service!

Unnecessary service, but not actually a scam

Not actually a scam. but a completely unnecessary service and security risk. They are simply agents doing what you can do yourself on the official website of the Indian government, indianvisaonline gov in.

Complete and utter shambles from start to finish

The whole Indian visa application process was honestly one of the most stressful and infuriating periods in my life. I initially tried getting a visa with my Australian passport through Indian Visa Online, which told me they wouldn’t give me an outcome till about a month before my trip to India.

That application got rejected with no explanation. I then tried getting an e-visa with my British passport on three occasions but they were all rejected. I tried contacting the relevant email address and calling relevant number – they were completely useless at providing me with any explanation as to why the applications were being rejected.

I then had to go to the embassy to sort out my visa. Literally told within 5 minutes that issue was I work for media company (even though I’m not a journalist…). Spent 6 hours there trying to sort it out and told had to get journalist visa (even though I’m not a journalist…). They assured me my passport and visa would be returned within 5 working days to the visa centre. However, it took them over 2 weeks to return the relevant documents back.

By this point I was in Japan so had to get the documents sent via DHL. Ended up missing initial flight to India because of all this and had to rearrange new flight for several hundred pounds. Missed best friend’s wedding because of this shambles and almost £1000 down due to their complete incompetence.

Can safely say I will never be going back to India because of their visa system. Save yourself a lot of hassle and go somewhere else on holiday – it’s not worth the stress!

what complete joke of ineptitude

what complete joke of ineptitude. the evisa will sometimes let you log into it saying your birthday is wrong or the app id that has been given you is wrong.
nobody ever answers the phone, you normally get cut off .. the highly trained staff for you.
my holiday is booked and paid for but will i get a visa.
If i had known before i would have picked a different country.

Visa hassle

I was invited to give a keynote lecture at an Institute of Management in India. I applied for a visa, $80, weeks went by, then a rejection a few days before I was due to leave. Apply again in a different category, provide more documentation, etc. No time to do any of this. Trip cancelled.

Indian visa shambles. Don’t bother

I completed the application form. Obtained photos and copies etc. Travelled to the Marylebone office. When I attended I was told the form was wrong. In the drop down menu I had put British subject. This is their menu. I was told it should be United Kingdom. No opportunity to correct it, not interested that I had spent several hours and some expense travelling there. Just go away, do a new form and get another appointment which will be four weeks or so. A family outside were in tears, saying this is the third time they has attended and still they had to come back again. Total shambles, no assistance and they couldn’t care less. I love India but won’t be going until they sort themselves out over this visa business. Seems to me they’re deliberately obstructive so I’m off to somewhere my presence and money would be appreciated

No Contact

I have been trying to contact someone for the last month without receiving any response on multiple phone calls and emails. To make a small amendment on the visa, no one is reachable. Why would anyone want to travel to India if this is how the inital contact with just getting a visa is.

Indian Immigration Suspected of Fraud

edit: I put this new information at the beginning because it is the most important thing. Because of the Indian government’s highly suspicious behavior with my bank card information, my card was shut down and I was strongly advised by my bank to get a new card….which i’m going to have to wait for, which is going to delay my travel plans. It is a great inconvenience.

Even though it is an e-visa doesn’t mean the process is much better.
They continue to have an arrogant and contemptuous attitude. They continue as well to be exceptionally intrusive. eg. They need to know where my father was born just for a tourist visa! That’s just one example.
And after enduring the indignity of having to answer several offensive questions, their payment system failed, not once but four times. Not only that but I received a fraud notice from my bank due to the activities of their ineffectual (and possibly fraudulent) institutions who have an agreement with the Indian government to receive money for these services.
And as anybody knows who has had these difficulties, after four unsuccessful attempts at paying, the entire application is wiped from the system. If I wanted to go to India at this point, I would need to start the process all over from the beginning.
Unfortunately, although I do very much want to go to India, due to the efforts of the hateful people within the Indian Immigration Department, I will end my days never having gone there.

No one picks the phone at customer service

After reading great reviews, I have been trying to apply for E-Visa to India since I need to travel for a family emergency. I have been calling their customer service for the last 2 days with absolutely no response.

Emergency e visa

We applied with by boyfriend for a last minute e-visa with this company. My evisa arrived in time to take the plane but my boyfriend’s one arrived 8 hours later on so we had to change our flight. When we checked the status of application we realised that they apply several hours later for the one we didn’t receive. We tried several times to contact the wassup number and the email address without succes. Nobody was there to answer. Since the normal e visa application is free, I consider the 100 euros fees not worth it when you have such a bad customer service

Below are the analyze and conclusion of us about above reviews

indiaonlinevisas.org.in Intro: This appears to be a canned promotional message from the website itself, describing its services and touting its expertise. It claims to simplify the Indian visa application process, offering 24/7 customer support and multilingual assistance. This statement needs to be verified through independent reviews as it represents a biased perspective. The claims of expertise and readily available support should be cross-checked with actual customer experiences.

RW Review: This review expresses extreme frustration with the online form, citing issues like freezing, requests for unnecessary details (previous visa information, travel history), and cumbersome upload requirements. The reviewer describes the process as “total bureaucracy gone mad.” This suggests a poorly designed and user-unfriendly application system. The complaints about the complexity of the form and technical issues are significant red flags.

Shilpa Review: This review mentions receiving the ETA through the official government website, which is a crucial point. The reviewer then criticizes the clarity of information regarding the date of arrival on the ETA and the lack of responsiveness from the helpdesk, describing the service as “awful.” The inability to reach customer service and the unhelpful interactions are major concerns, suggesting a lack of support for applicants.

Jaz Review: This is a serious allegation. The reviewer claims their card was cloned after using the site, and that the transaction was only declined because it was a Chase card. This is a critical security issue and a major red flag. If true, it indicates a severe vulnerability in the website’s payment processing system. The warning not to use a debit card is a strong indicator of the reviewer’s belief that the site is compromised.

shahad K Review: This is a straightforward accusation of fraud. The reviewer states they were charged $190 USD without receiving any service. This is a common hallmark of scam websites that take money without providing the promised service. This is a strong warning signal.

Allan Stenhøj Schmidt Review: This review offers a nuanced perspective. The reviewer acknowledges that the site isn’t a complete scam but labels it an “unnecessary service and security risk.” They point out that the site essentially acts as an agent for what can be done directly on the official Indian government website. The security risk is a significant concern, suggesting potential data privacy issues.

Jack Collins Review: This review details an extremely negative experience with the overall Indian visa application process, not just the website. The reviewer faced multiple rejections, lack of explanation, and ultimately had to resolve the issue in person at the embassy. The reviewer reports significant financial losses and missed important events. While the review criticizes the broader system, it does reflect on the ineffectiveness of online resources.

kevin bailey Review: This review highlights technical issues with the e-visa system, such as login problems and incorrect information. The reviewer also complains about the lack of customer service, stating that nobody answers the phone. This reinforces the concerns about the reliability and support offered by the online system. The frustration and uncertainty about obtaining a visa are palpable.

martin kilduff Review: This review describes a frustrating experience with a visa application being rejected shortly before the intended trip, leading to cancellation. While it doesn’t explicitly accuse the website of being a scam, it highlights the potential for significant disruption and disappointment when relying on the system.

Brian Cullen Review: This review details a negative experience at the Marylebone office, highlighting inconsistencies in the application form and a lack of assistance from staff. The reviewer was told the form was wrong due to a drop-down menu error and was not offered a chance to correct it. The account of the family in tears suggests a systemic problem with the visa application process.

M Hossain Review: This is a short, frustrated comment suggesting that UK passport holders should avoid applying for Indian visas due to the complications involved. It doesn’t provide specific details about the website but adds to the overall negative sentiment surrounding the visa application process.

Supriya Bhatia Review: This review complains about the inability to contact anyone for assistance with a visa amendment. The lack of responsiveness from customer service raises serious concerns about the website’s support capabilities.

Gopinath Menon Review: This is a rhetorical question highlighting the difficulty in reaching customer service representatives. It reinforces the concerns about the lack of support and communication with the website.

Joe Schenk Review: This review is particularly damning. The reviewer suspects fraudulent activity related to their bank card information, leading to the card being shut down. They also criticize the intrusive and offensive nature of the questions asked during the application process, along with repeated payment failures. This strongly suggests the website is not trustworthy and may be engaged in unethical or illegal practices.

Litcy Kurisinkal Review: This review mentions attempting to contact customer service for two days without any response, echoing the complaints of other reviewers about the lack of support.

Diana Johansen Review: This is the only positive review. The reviewer received a refund even after the stated refund policy period. This suggests that the provider might be legit, or they are trying to skew the overall opinion on them.

Bianca Nenciu Review: This review describes a situation where one visa arrived late, causing a flight change, and the customer service was unresponsive. They deemed the service not worth the 100 euro fee. It highlights the unreliability of the “emergency” visa service and the poor customer support.

reg backlinks Review: This review appears to be advertising for another company (Reg Immigration) and is irrelevant to the evaluation of indiaonlinevisas.org.in. It should be disregarded as it doesn’t provide any feedback on the actual visa application process.

Gautham M Kota Review: This is a short, generic positive review praising the service as “excellent,” “knowledgeable,” and “professional.” It lacks specific details and may be inauthentic.

Surbhi Chandna Review: This is another short, generic positive review stating “I am very impressed on Indian Visa Online!!!” It provides no specific information and appears potentially inauthentic.

Harpreet singh Review: This is a short, generic positive review that states “Excellent service I´m so pleased with the customer service.” It provides no specific details and appears potentially inauthentic.

indiaonlinevisas.org.in likely a scam
